The International Aerospace Summer School 2020 of Moscow Aviation Institute has started online on July 20 – a nine-day educational program for students from China including academic and cultural and ethnographic modules.

From June 22 to 26, MAI held a remote theses pre-defense for students of joint Master’s degree program between Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 

In May, Moscow Aviation Institute began the final stage of selecting students for a double diploma program - a joint Master's degree program between MAI and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). 

Moscow Aviation Institute is engaged in designing a promising joint Chinese-Russian wide-body long-range aircraft. Personnel training for the project named CR929 is carried out by MAI in partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).

First-year student of the joint master's program of Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Alexey Openkin went to study in China in September 2019. The first semester of the first year passed in the normal mode, but then not only the educational process, but the life of the MAI student turned upside down. In China, compulsory quarantine was announced in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection, and the SJTU transferred the training to a remote format. Alex was completely isolated away from home. We learned from him how distance learning is organized at the SJTU, why he did not return to Russia, and how his life changed during the quarantine.

Anna Yazovskikh, a graduate student of Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), told about how the Chinese university provides distance learning, and how a student can more effectively organize time in quarantine.

Gui Yajing, a student of Master’s double degree program of Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, shared with us her experience on self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic.

On January 13-15, 2020, the defense of master's thesis was held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the first graduation ceremony of joint MAI-SJTU master’s double degree program were held.

Students of the joint Master’s degree program between Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (MAI-SJTU) will demonstrate their work at the International Aviation and Space Salon within the framework of the Russian-Chinese project of wide-body long-range aircraft CR939.

On July 17-18, the first thesis defense of Russian students of the international graduate program of Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University took place in two areas: "Aircraft Engineering" and "Aircraft Engines".

In the beginning of April, students of MAI-SJTU Master’s degree program met with Maxim Litvinov, a chief designer of Russian-Chinese project of a wide-body long-range aircraft CR929.

On December 21, 2018, students of MAI – SJTU Master’s degree program celebrated the end of the of the third semester of their study.

On December 12, 2018, MAI-SJTU students of the direction “Product Life Cycle” presented their projects in the framework of the course “Requirements management”.

It's been more than a month since the students of MAI-SJTU master’s double degree program started their journey towards their life experience in Russia and China. They are getting acquainted with the countries of their education and shared with us their observations. 

On September 5, 2018 was held a meeting with Russian students of Master’s double degree program, who will go for a first year of study to Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).
