MAI-SJTU Students Met with a Chief Designer of the CR929 Aircraft
In the beginning of April, students of MAI-SJTU Master’s degree program met with Maxim Litvinov, a chief designer of Russian-Chinese project of a wide-body long-range aircraft CR929.
The CR929 project is managed by the China-Russia Commercial Aircraft International Company (CRAIС), a joint venture between Russian company “United Aircraft Corporation” (UAC) and Chinese company “Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China” (COMAC), that was set up in May 2017. In the same year, it was decided to start a joint Master’s degree program between Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University to train high qualified specialists for the project of a wide-body long-range aircraft CR929.
Mr. Litvinov shared latest news about CR929 project activities and tasks. He told about the experience of first year double degree MAI-SJTU students, who are already involved in the work process as a real part of production team.
For their part, students shared experience related to their life in Shanghai and study at the university. They have provided a brief report about the knowledges that they obtained during the past several months and some cases related to casual life and culture aspects of being in China. Mr. Litvinov pointed out the important aspects in study that are worth in order to be more effective regarding to current and future projects in the aviation industry.
The partnership between the two universities is developing at a steady pace, and the Moscow-Shanghai-Moscow direction is becoming more popular among students every year. This year the second intake of MAI-SJTU joint Master’s degree program will finish their first year in Shanghai and are about to start their second year in Moscow soon.
