MAI has the newest and unique equipment which allows it to conduct advanced researches. These are:
- resource centers and research laboratories;
- design bureaus, including ones for students;
- mission control center;
- experimental pilot plant;
- airfield.

Above all, MAI is the only Russian university which has a Code Signing Certificate of aviation equipment. There are start-ups in which students, workers and partners are involved. The projects can be materialized due to Business Incubator, the Novice Entrepreneur Center and Technopark, the projects are developed and implemented; MAI also cooperates with technology companies and venture capital funds.
