New opportunities for students: in MAI was opened a Coworking Center

On October 3, 2018 the student co-working center was opened on the campus of Moscow Aviation Institute, in the dormitory building at Tsareva Street, 12.

The renewed platform, designed in the concept of urbanism, will allow MAI students to take full advantage of accessible and convenient public space.

Here, students will be able to comfortably work on joint projects, and the flexible organization of the working space will also allow the use a platform for the formation of a creative environment, communication and creative interaction.

The initiative to create this multi-functional site belonged to the students, living in the dormitory. The first student coworking center at MAI was opened with the support of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. The grand opening was attended by Vice-Rector for University Complex Development and Social Issues Inna Gavrilova, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Sergey Kulikov and Head of the Department for the Development and Operation of the Social Residential Complex of MAI Olga Baglyukova.

The Coworking Center includes a lecture hall and a cinema for 50 people, a zone for holding competitions in cybersport, workplaces with personal computers and a self-preparation zone. MAI students could relax, playing different games on Sony PlayStation 4 or table games like “Activity” or “Jenga”. Those who are very tired during the day can sit in bean bag chair and calmly read a book or take a nap.

Already on the opening day were held a meeting of the student parliamentary club, a competition in the FIFA and EA Sports UFC games, as well as a student tournament in table games.

The Coworking Center is opened from Monday to Friday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., and on weekends from 11 a.m. to 11p.m. by appointment.
