Useful Information for Students of Pre-University Foundation Program
On October 1, 2018 was held the orientation meeting for students of Pre-University Foundation Programs (Russian-medium).
The orientation meeting was organized by International Department of MAI with the goal of getting acquainted international students with MAI and Russia.
MAI offered for international students three Pre-University programs: University Foundation Program (Russian medium), University Foundation Program (English medium) and Intensive Russian language program. The main goals of the Foundation program are to prepare students for training in Bachelor’s degree in engineering technical universities, help them to adapt to the new environment and learn the language.
The most popular program among international students is Pre-University Foundation Program (Russian-medium). Participants of the program not only learn Russian language, but also have classes on Mathematics and Physics . The program lasts 10 months and as a result of the program the students master the Russian language to the extent necessary for comprehending information from Russian sources and know the lexical minimum of 2300 educational lexical units of common and terminological character. They could apply for Russian language educational program of Bachelor’s, Master’s or Postgraduate degrees.
At the orientation meeting international students from India, Malaysia, China, Egypt and many other countries were welcomed by the Head of the Pre-University program faculty Dr. Sergey Lutin and representatives of MAI International Department.
Mr. Alexey Zarechensky, the Head of International Projects, gave students a presentation about registration issues and accommodation rules at MAI, sport and creative opportunities on campus, transport information and student opportunities in Moscow. Especially for freshmen were created video guides on how to get to the main points of MAI educational life: to the International Students’ Educational Center, Pre-University Program Faculty and the way from dormitory to MAI campus.
