Orientation meeting for students of Master’s double degree program

On September 4, 2018 at MAI was held an orientation meeting for Chinese students from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics , Shenyang Aerospace University and Beihang University.

In 2017 MAI concluded agreements with a number of Chinese universities on the creation of joint Master’s double degree educational program. The duration of the program is 2 years. Students have already spent the first year in China and now begin their second year of education at MAI.

Students will study at MAI on directions of “Aircraft Engineering” and “Propulsion Engineering”. The language of instructions is English medium. After successful presentation of Master´s degree thesis students will receive Double Degree Russian-Chinese Diploma. 

The orientation meeting for Chinese students was organized by International Department of MAI. The goal of orientation meeting is to get acquainted students with MAI and Russia. 

Chinese students were welcomed by Head of International department Olga Pogosyan and Head of International Students’ Educational Center Elena Baranova. Dean of the Faculty №1 “Aircraft Engineering” Alexander Efremov and Deputy Director of Institute №2 “Propulsion Engineering” Sergey Kiktev greeted students and wished them success in the new academic year.

Students were given a presentation about life in Russia and MAI, registration issues, accommodation rules, sport and creative opportunities on campus. Especially for freshmen were created video guides of how to get to the main points of MAI educational process: to the International Students’ Educational Center, Pre-University program Faculty and were shown the way from dormitory to MAI.

After the orientation meeting representatives of International Department answered all questions of students. To get settled students have almost month: their classes begin on October, 1.

“Joint Master's double degree programs, which were opened in 2017 and implemented in English, play a great role for the internationalization of education, allow to exchange unique experience in the field of aircraft and rocket engineering. For students this is a great chance in 2 years to receive at once two diplomas of the leading aerospace universities of the world!”, - said Elena Baranova, Head of International Students’ Educational Center.

The proportion of students from China, studying at Master's degree programs in English among all international students of MAI, is 26.6%.
