MAI as a Part of “Space Walk” Route for International Students
On August 20, 2018 a tour for international students from India was held at MAI. The meeting was organized by the International Department of MAI and the “PROSTO COSMOS” company, whose mission is to develop and promote world cosmonautics, to study people's needs and desires, and to discover new opportunities for using and exploring outer space.
The tour group consisted of 15 people: assistant professor of Aeronautical Engineering Department from VEL Tech University, two MAI freshmen from India, and 12 students of aerospace program from different Indian universities, such as Osmania University, Amity University Noida, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science and other.
Aggarwal Kanika and Nishant Gaurav will start their Master's degree Program in Spacecraft Engineering at MAI in September 2018. Both of them have received educational grants from “Rossotrudichestvo”, a federal agency for the commonwealth of independent states affairs, compatriots living abroad, and international humanitarian cooperation. They will study at MAI in Russian.
During the tour, young people were shown the MAI campus and a training laboratory of the 101 Department (Faculty No. 1 "Aircraft Engineering"). The laboratory is equipped with modern aircrafts: Yak-40, MAI-890, Elf-D, Su-27, MiG-29, Yak-38, MiG-23, SU-25, as well as over 200 full-scale aggregates and units of Russian and foreign aircrafts.
After the tour at MAI, happy and satisfied students continued their “space walk” around Moscow. “Such joint programs as cooperation with the “PROSTO COSMOS” company allow students from different countries to get acquainted with our university, to see the campus, laboratories and faculties with their own eyes. We are planning to conduct such tours in the future, which will also include the laboratory of Institute No. 6 “Aerospace” with real spacecrafts in it”, - said Elena Baranova, Head of International Students’ Educational Centre.
