Rector of MAI Received the Award According to the Results of the Seventh Ranking of the Best Universities in Russia
The organizers of the ranking especially noted the quality and high demand for specialists trained at MAI and the rector Mikhail Pogosyan was awarded a diploma in the nomination "Employability of graduates among employers" (MAI is in the top 20 ranking in this direction).
The Rector of MAI took part in the plenary discussion "Harmonious development of the University as a guarantee of competitiveness", which is taking place within the framework of the forum. The theme of the multi-profile of universities and the need for the transition of sectoral research universities to the strategy of expanding the portfolio of competencies was also discussed at the meeting.
Within the framework of discussion, Mikhail Pogosyan emphasized that MAI trains specialists throughout the life cycle of products not only of aviation, rocket and space, but also of other high technology. At the same time, high quality of training and practical orientation ensure high competitiveness of graduates in the labor market and arouse interest among employers. As an example, rector mentioned the cooperation of MAI with the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
Also in the discussion took part the rectors of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology , Saint Petersburg State University , Ural Federal University , Southern Federal University and other leading Russian universities.
The ranking of the best universities in Russia according to the RAEX version is formed on the basis of statistical indicators of the activities of universities, as well as the results of a survey of 30,000 respondents: representatives of academic and scientific circles, students and graduates, employers.
Based on the results of the ranking in 2018, the Moscow Aviation Institute is one of the most dynamically developing universities. MAI has made substantive progress in the field of international integration and concluded a number of agreements with Chinese universities on the establishment of joint programs of double degree.
The volume of R & D (research and development) of MAI has increased by more than 1.5 times, thereby amounting more than 2 billion rubles. This was the result of the implementation of complex cooperation programs with a number of corporations: United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) , United Engine Corporation, Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, Technodinamika and others. The quality of admission was improved (the average score of the Unified State Exam increased by almost 5 points), the acceptance of international students increased by more than 1.5 times. In addition, MAI continues to increase its publication activity - the number of articles of the university, indexed in the leading international reference databases Scopus and Web of Science, has doubled in 2017. Such great results allowed MAI to enter the top 30 ranking of the best universities in Russia.
