MAI and Glavkosmos to develop a microsatellite together with the Belgian Space Center
A meeting between the representatives of Glavkosmos, MAI and the Liege Space Center (Center Spatial de Liege) was held in Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University) on April 10, 2018.
The topic of their discussion was the project on joint development, manufacture and launch of a CubeSat.
Within the framework of this collaboration, the Belgian experts will develop an optical payload operating in the infrared range. MAI’s task is the design, manufacture and ground tests of the small spacecraft.
Glavkosmos will coordinate the project and provide a launch of the CubeSat on the Soyuz-2 launch vehicle.
During the meeting, the partners also discussed possible areas of cooperation, outlined the roadmap of the CubeSat project, and visited the laboratories of the Aerospace Institute and the Research Institute of Applied Mechanics and Electrodynamics of the MAI.
