MAI took part in International Engineering Sourcing Show in Chennai
International Engineering Sourcing Show of hi-tech products (IESS-2017) took place on March 16-18 in Chennai, India. Over 40 companies from 10 regions were included in the United national exposition by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation. Moscow Aviation Institute presented itself at the exhibition as part of the Russian national exposition.
MAI was represented by Master’s degree student of Aeronautical Faculty, Praveen Sankaran. Praveen comes from India so he easily found a common language with all visitors of the show. He was presenting MAI’s international academic programs, which raised great interest among the visitors, along with exhibit models of MAI’s ‘601-X-1’ microsatellite and an experimental light aerobatic airplane ‘Kvant’, which complement the presentation and visually demonstrated the educational, scientific, developmental and industrial-technological competencies and results of project-based learning at MAI.
First-hand information about MAI was one of the most important parts of communication between the Russian specialists and the IESS visitors. Stories about Aeronautical Faculty aroused special attention.
All in all, the aviation topic at the Russian exposition dominated the whole exhibition. Minister of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation, Mr. Denis Manturov, in his interview with the media noted the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the production of aircraft components for SSJ-100 aircraft and wide-body aircraft MS-21. He also talked about the launch of preparations for the production of the regional Il-114 screw aircraft and the possibility of its further supply to the Indian market. An impressive number of companies and projects related to the aviation industry was also presented at the stand.
International Engineering Sourcing Show has been recognized as the most prestigious and successful in the South Asian region. It attracts more than 400 participants from almost 60 countries around the world.
