An Engineering Class Laboratory Opened in MAI
On February 18th, an engineering class laboratory of the in robotics field was opened in MAI. The foundation of such laboratory was possible due to joint efforts of MAI and the First Moscow Cadet Corps as part of the development of continuous education at the stage of pre-college education.
The pupils and Heads of the Cadet Corps and of the school as well as representatives of various organizations involved in the matter of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). Pupils will be given theoretical and practical training in physics, math, IT, specialized engineering, software engineering, modeling as well as assembly work concerning UAV, modeling and design of navigation systems, processing the results of aerial photography. Practical training will be conducted on the Alferievo airfield, which belongs to MAI.
At the very opening on 18.02.2017 the pupils were able to see what their classes will be like. Experts Nikita Vasilyev and Aleksandr Fomenko conducted a workshop on modeling and design of navigation systems and operating a UAV. The pupils learned about the designation, operational peculiarities and the field of application of drones, and the theoretical knowledge which they received was immediately put into practice. Two aircraft got off the ground and everyone present could see it either on the display or with the help of an earpiece, in real life.
There was also a tour to the Automatic and Intelligent Control Systems Faculty that left a positive impression on the pupils who are now looking forward to working in the laboratory.
