Rambler News: MAI participates in the development of Russian-Indian supersonic missile
Indo-Russian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace is implementing the project of creating a hypersonic missile, was told to reporters of Rambler News Service in New Delhi by Managing Chief Operations Officer of Indo-Russian joint venture Sudhir Kumar Mishra.
“Development will take 2-3 years”, – Mishra said about the timing of the creation of supersonic missiles.
He noted that the Indian military research agency of perspective DRDO is involved, as well as Russian Machine Building NPO (Reutov, Moscow region) and Moscow Aviation Institute.
Land and marine supersonic missile BrahMos weights 3 tons. Its speed is 3000 km/h. Earlier it was reported that it can reach 5000 km/h.
Managing Chief Operations Officer added that new generation of BrahMos is being developed. BrahMos NG will be 1400 kg. It can also be established in 2-3 years.
