New Year greetings from the Rector of MAI, Mikhail Pogosyan

Dear colleagues and friends!

This past year, 2024, has been a year of significant changes for MAI. We have been recognized as one of the leading universities in the country for our educational and research efforts. We are rightfully proud of this achievement.

Our main goal at MAI is to train specialists, teams, and leaders who can drive change. This goal has been confirmed by our success in the Priority 2030 program over the past three years. We have achieved this through the rapid development of cutting-edge areas such as digital technologies, mathematical modeling, design of composite materials, space systems, and services at our university. We have also introduced modern technologies into our educational process and adopted a non-traditional approach to practical classes, including those with leading aerospace companies as employers.

MAI students and teachers are highly recognized professionals in their fields. Thanks to our joint efforts, the MAI team became finalists in the prestigious international programming competition ICPC-2025 in 2024. They also won numerous medals in various disciplines at the Moscow Student Sports Games and were included in lists of the best students and graduate students in the country, receiving awards from the President and Government of the Russian Federation. The activities of the University's Patriotic Club and Volunteerism Center were also recognized with prestigious awards on several occasions.

MAI continues to actively develop its international activities. This year, the university has significantly increased its partnerships with foreign colleagues. Among our partners are China, African countries, the United Arab Emirates and other countries that have agreed to implement joint long-term projects in the aerospace industry. We have also started introducing new experience exchange programs for industry professionals. Additionally, more than 600 international students enrolled this year.

These are just a few of the achievements I would like to mention. There will undoubtedly be many more to come in the coming year.

I wish you and your loved ones happiness and health as we enter the New Year!

Mikhail Pogosyan, MAI rector
