Welcome aboard: the Day of Knowledge in MAI
MAI hosted celebration of the Day of Knowledge. Entertainment program with sports, scientific activities, contests and concert with participation of top artists was organized for the students.

The celebration program was opened with traditional official part. The freshmen were invited to the MAI Palace of Culture and Technology, and Mikhail Aslanovich Pogosyan, the Rector of the University, congratulated them from the stage.
“You completed your studies at school, sufficient part of work was done, and now you made your choice of the future career and enrolled to MAI. You are now facing new, challenging tasks, and Moscow Aviation Institute will help you reveal your talents. Remember that great success is achievable to those, people who do the things that really fascinate them. I am sure that here you will find the field of activity, those projects from which you will receive great pleasure and where you will achieve great results. I would like to wish you success in implementing your wildest ideas. Congratulations, my dear friends!” – Rector of Moscow Aviation Institute addressed the students.
MAI institutes directors and honorary guests also congratulated the newcomers – Vyacheslav Tsybulnikov, Vice-President, Chairman of the Moscow Bank of Sberbank, Vyacheslav Tsybulnikov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of the City of Moscow, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of MAI Artur Berlov.
The ceremony was closed with the solemn transfer of the symbol of aviation – the propeller – by senior students to freshmen and the recitation of the oath of the MAI residents.
Entertainment time
After the official part entertainment started at the campus of Moscow Aviation Institute. And contests with prizes started on MAI social networks.
So, on the Main Square, it was possible to demonstrate athletic and creative abilities and meet with famous graduates of MAI: test cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Anna Kikina, creator of “Avtoradio” Mikhail Zakharov and Russian and world champion in kettlebell lifting Egor Ovsyannikov.
At the exposition of the “Almaz” orbital station, students were granted the opportunity to go through career check-up, learn everything about the externship and their potential employers.
At scientific exposition, organized on Cosmonauts Alley, all the information about the student associations of Moscow Aviation Institute was available.
Graduates are the pride of MAI
The Day of Knowledge in MAI is a holiday not only for students, but also for the graduates. On September 2, a solemn graduation of 12 young lieutenants took place at the Military Training Center of the University. Those who completed their education this year received their first officer ranks. Now they will serve in various military administration bodies, Russian Aerospace Forces, Strategic Missile Forces and in the Department of Military Missions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Mikhail Aslanovich Pogosyan, the Rector of MAI, Vladimir Leonidovich Zakharov, Adviser to the Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces and Senior Researcher, Reserve Lieutenant, Vladimir Andreevich Baykin, General and Adviser to the Command of the Space Forces, Reserve Major General, congratulated the graduates.
It’s party time!
The Day of Knowledge went on with the performance of the KVN teams of MAI, who presented acute new jokes. The highlight of the festive program was a concert by the "Mojito" band and Hensy, the singer. They wished the students and graduates great victories in life, and performed their most famous compositions.
