First Russian Summer Space School for experts from Africa is over

Moscow Aviation Institute hosted the closing ceremony of the first Summer School for experts of the space industry from African countries. 18 experts from South Africa, Angola, Mali and Zimbabwe became the participants of the intensive course.

MAI developed a two-week program focused on the project management of space programs, design of services based on small spacecraft, and personnel for companies in the space industry especially for representatives of African countries.

As part of the Summer School, foreign specialists met with Yury Borisov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and current international projects.

Summing up the results of the course, the representative of the South African Ministry of Defense, General Berends Andre Russell, thanked the Russian party for the warm welcome. – I want to emphasize that our delegation is very pleased with what we have seen, and we are grateful to Russia for the experience that we can gain at such venues. I really hope that in the future we will be able to build mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries, – said General Berends Andre Russell.

Summer Space School for experts from Africa was carried out as part of the Russian-African Network University Consortium and under the support of Glavkosmos.
