MAI participates in HeliRussia-2024, the exhibition of the helicopter industry

Moscow Aviation Institute presents its developments at the International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia-2024. The event takes place at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center on June 10-12.

VR simulator for Superjet maintenance training was available at the stand of the University. The development was created by the MAI Energy Systems Competence Center and consists of a VR helmet and a multimedia application that recreates an airplane and all necessary equipment in a virtual environment.

Another development is high-capacity rechargeable batteries for unmanned aerial vehicles. The batteries are assembled on the basis of lithium polymer cells based on a semi-solid electrolyte. The technology was created by the staff of the MAI Institute No. 12 “Aerospace high-tech technologies and production”.

MAI Institute No. 14 “Advanced Engineering School” presented four developments: elements of an electric power plant (EPP), an engine for drones and an EPP test bench. The stand allows to transit to the optimal design of the power plant as a whole, rather than its individual elements: the propeller, engine, regulator, battery.

“Contour”, an unmanned system for monitoring the protected perimeter, made by UAV MAI Center, is also on display at the exhibition. “Helicopter Design” department presented an unmanned helicopter-type aircraft with an electric motor and a small-sized system for onboard measurements of flight parameters. The system registers coordinates in GPS and GLONASS systems, optionally angular velocity parameters and magnetic heading, as well as analog, digital signals and one-time commands.

HeliRussia-2024 exhibition takes place on June 10-12 at the Crocus Expo IEC.
