On May 29, a delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, headed by Deputy Secretary General Megat Sany bin Megat Ahmad Supian, visited Moscow Aviation Institute. During the meeting, the results of ongoing activities and cooperation prospects were discussed. A special focus was put on the joint program between MAI and the Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology of the University of Kuala Lumpur. It is being delivered since 2005, with more than 100 students from Malaysia currently studying at MAI.
"The program is carried out in a 3+2 format (3 years in Malaysia, then 2 in Russia) with the students receiving a UniKL MIAT diploma and a bachelor’s degree in aircraft engineering or aircraft maintenance from MAI," says Sofia Spasskova, a leading specialist at MAI’s International Department.
The delegation also included representatives of the University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) International, and several other Malaysian higher education institutions. Among the topics discussed were possible research collaborations, student and faculty exchange, as well as joint educational programs in the field of aircraft engineering, IT, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Russian and Malaysian sides noted the importance of expanding cooperation. In the course of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to cooperate in areas of mutual interest.
