Sports, debates and expert competitions: how the Russian Students Day was celebrated in MAI
On the 25th of January, Moscow Aviation Institute hosted a program dedicated to the Russian Students Day.
There was an interactive zone with nine stations in the Main Academic Building of MAI, where students were invited to complete various tasks. MAI residents could try themselves at rowing simulators, play table tennis, take a workshop on the first aid from the student rescue squad, participate in intellectual debates and take part in many other activities. At each station, participants scored points that could be exchanged for T-shirts, baseball caps and other prizes with MAI symbols.
In addition, the university organized a demonstration of a documentary film aimed at educating and familiarizing students with the achievements of the country presented at the international exhibition-forum "Russia".
20 student teams competed in the big university game "What? Where? When?" The victory was won by the MAI Debates team, which included students of institutes № 1 "Aviation Engineering", № 3 "Control Systems, Informatics and Electric Power Engineering", № 4 "Radioelectronics, Infocommunications and Information Security" and № 8 "Computer Science and Applied Mathematics". The second place was taken by the team of the institute № 3 "SIVE in fore” (that originated from "Five in the score book"), where SIVE stands for shuttle interface verification equipment, and the third place was taken by the students of the institute № 9 "General Engineering training" – the team "Big Wooden Owl". The winners and prize-winners were awarded medals and MAI merch.
