International Aerospace Winter School started in MAI

On the 22nd of January, the International Aerospace Winter School dedicated to space and Moon exploration started at Moscow Aviation Institute. The course was attended by 26 students from two Chinese universities – Zhejiang University and Sun Yat-sen University.

MAI Department of Advanced Scientific Programs became the organizer of the online educational intensive was the with the academic support of the Institute № 6 "Aerospace". The program consisted of video lectures, practical tasks and live broadcasts. Students received basic information about space and aerospace technologies and master more complex topics. For example, there were lectures on the dynamics of space flight and the engineering features of spacecraft given to the students. The speakers of the course were teachers of MAI Institute № 6 and current experts of private and public space companies.

One of the most important goals of the Winter Aerospace School is to develop the interest of foreign students to Russian culture. Therefore, in addition to the technical module, Russian language lessons are added to the course.

At the end of the course, students will perform a test on the material they have passed, after which the results will be discussed in the final live broadcast.

The online project of the Summer and Winter Schools started in 2020 (before that, the school was full-time). This time, more than 600 students took part in it.
