MAI rugby players lead in the XXXVI Moscow student sports games

On March 31, the third round of the XXXVI Moscow Student Sports Rugby-7 Games took place at the Burevestnik Stadium. According to the results of the tour, the Moscow Aviation Institute team won second place.

MAI team lost to rivals from MGUSiT, but beat the teams of MEPhI, Moscow State University and Bauman Moscow State Technical University. According to the total score for three rounds, the MAI team gets the first place in the standings.

– Three players from the main squad were unable to participate in the competition, but despite this, the team took a responsible approach to the game and performed well. A student from China, Shen Juncheng, made his debut in the third round. He is the first Chinese player in the MAI national rugby union team. Following the results of three rounds, MAI residents are 12 points ahead of their nearest opponent, and now our goal is to maintain the lead in the final, fourth round, – commented team consultant Valery Khromenkov.
