Rugby cup dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the University team was held in MAI
Touch rugby competitions dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the creation of the University team were held at Moscow Aviation Institute. The participants were the University team and its backup staff, teams of MAI graduates, MAI Malaysian students, Sechenov University and the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology.
MAI team won the first place, the second was taken by the MAI alumni team, and the third - by the Sechenov University team.
– Two generations of MAI teams met in an uncompromising struggle. Neither of them wanted to concede: after the end of regular time, the referee fixed the score 7:7. And only during the extra five-minute half, MAI team outplayed its senior fellow graduates with a score of 2:1, – the coach of MAI team Valery Khromenkov told.
The captain of MAI team was awarded with the tournament cup, the winners received medals and diplomas, and the best players were awarded with memorable prizes. Tournaments dedicated to the anniversary of the MAI rugby team will continue throughout 2024.
