Young scientists under the "New Generation" program visited MAI

On July 28, 30 foreign experts visited Moscow Aviation Institute as part of the Green Flight seminar under the "New Generation" program. Young scientists from Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, India, China, Malaysia, Tajikistan and South Africa learnt about the scientific programs and discussed the future of eco-friendly air transport.

The guests made a tour around MAI territory. In particular, the foreigners saw the aviation hangar of the Department No. 101 "Design and certification of aviation equipment". It exhibits Su-27, Yak-38, MiG-23 and other aircraft.

The tour ended with an inspection of the exposition of the Almaz orbital station. The station itself is a space observation and reconnaissance station with a length of 11.6 meters and a mass of 18.9 tons. It was designed for a crew of two or three people with a working time in orbit of up to 410 days.

Now it is an educational and practical laboratory where students can study the anatomy of space orbital stations of previous generations. There is also a space lecture hall of MAI, and interactive workshops for students are held here.
