International Aerospace Summer School opened in MAI
On July 17, Moscow Aviation Institute launched its annual educational intensive course for students from China named the International Aerospace Summer School. More than 100 students from four universities participated in the program: Zhejiang University, Northwestern Polytechnic University, Beijing Institute of Technology and Northern University of China.
This year, the main topic of the program is space technologies and the exploration of the Moon. It was chosen as part of a new round of cooperation between Russia and China in the space sphere: the contracts for the deployment of Russian GLONASS stations in China and Chinese Beidou stations in Russia, and the intergovernmental agreement on the creation of a scientific lunar station.
The program was developed by the Department of Support of Prospective International Programs of the Advanced Scientific Programs Chair with the participation of 601 "Space Systems and Rocket Engineering" experts. The program lasts two weeks and consists of lectures, practical classes, project activities and sightseeing trips across Moscow. At the end of the course, students will defend their final projects.
The International Aerospace Summer School has been held by Moscow Aviation Institute since 2018. This year, for the first time since 2020, it takes place in full-time format on the territory of MAI.
