MAI students will study at the Beijing Institute of Technology

Five MAI students will go to China for an internship at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) Summer School. The course will last from July 3 to July 30 and for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic will be held in full-time format. The costs of studying and living on campus will be borne by a Chinese university. In total, more than 60 MAI students took part in the competitive selection.

The internship is conducted in English in three directions. The programs will include lectures, practical classes in laboratories, visits to Chinese companies and excursions around Beijing.

Anastasia Matyukhova, a student of the Institute No. 11 "Materials Science and Technology of Materials", chose the program "Future technologies in the area of decarbonization and green energy".

– Nowadays, the environmental direction is promising for building a career. I study environmental management at MAI and have written research papers on this topic. And China is now one of the leaders in environmental technologies and energy. This is due to the fact that China, as a "global factory", has to solve many tasks in the field of environmental protection, – says Anastasia Matyukhova.

Valeria Kazakova, a student of the Institute No. 1 "Aviation Technology", chose the program "Chinese language and multicultural practice". She drew attention to the rapid development of relations between Beijing and Moscow. She is convinced that experts with knowledge of the Chinese language will be in demand in Russia.

The main advantage of the internship at the Beijing Institute of Technology is that the student considers obtaining high-quality basic knowledge of the language from native speakers. She thinks that in the future this will allow her to understand her foreign colleagues better.

– In the future, I am considering the possibility of entering BIT for a second higher education. This internship becomes a great opportunity to get acquainted with the institute, –  emphasizes Valeria Kazakova.

Grigory Kirsanov, a student of the Institute No. 8 "Computer Science and Applied Mathematics" of MAI, will master the program "Practical training in new technologies in the field of electronic engineering" in China.

– This program consists of such courses as "Artificial Intelligence", "Wireless communication and microwaves", "Smart vehicles". They systematically expand my main field of study "Fundamental Informatics and Information Technologies", which is implemented on the basis of the department 806. As part of my program at MAI, some of these courses have already been taken, but studying this material at a Chinese partner university will allow me to deepen my knowledge in these areas, – says Grigory Kirsanov.

Also, Arina Savosina, a student of the Institute No. 4 "Radio Electronics, Infocommunications and Information Security", and Alexandra Ivanova, a student of the Institute No. 6 "Aerospace", will go to China for an internship.

Beijing Institute of Technology is a state university founded in 1940. It is considered one of the most prestigious and influential technical universities in China. In 2023, BIT was ranked as 355th in the authoritative QS World University Ranking. The university is also a participant of a number of national programs in the field of education.

Moscow Aviation Institute cooperates with six Chinese universities. Three of partner universities host exchange students annually. It is possible to study for a semester without losing a year in MAI at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Beihang University (BUAA) and Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Also, the Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU) in the historic city of Xi'an in July will organize a summer school that will give an opportunity to immerse yourself in Chinese culture and listen to a course of lectures on advanced technical disciplines.

Students of all MAI institutes can apply for participation in partner programs. For further details address the Department of International Activities of the MAI:
