The second batch of the Russian-Chinese baccalaureate MAI-SJTU came to the defense of theses
The second cohort of undergraduate students of the Russian-Chinese Institute of MAI-SJTU completed their studies.
For three years, students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Moscow Aviation Institute studied in joint groups in three areas: aircraft engineering, engine building and rocket engineering. Now they have successfully defended their graduation projects at a Chinese university and are coming to the defense in MAI.
– The semesters when we were supposed to study in China were in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, – said Olga Chernenko, a student of the Institute No. 6 "Aerospace". – Because of this, we became the only people that never got to Shanghai for full-time study. Nevertheless, even studying online, I fully experienced the pleasure of being a student of the international program. During the years of study, we became very close with our Chinese classmates, who, by the way, were still able to come to Russia. This opened up new horizons for us in studying the culture of Russia and China, and also allowed us to improve English – now we can easily switch from one language to the other. And, of course, the most important thing is the start that two diplomas give us. These are not only advantages in finding employment in Russian companies, but also prospects for continuing studies abroad.
MAI and SJTU are implementing unique double degree program aimed at comprehensive training of students from Russia and China. The partners of the program are the largest industrial enterprises of the two countries. In 2017, three master's degree courses were opened. In 2019, the program was supplemented with three bachelor's degree courses. To date, more than 200 students are studying in all areas. For more details please address the link.
