MAI presented aviation and space developments at the international salon “Archimedes-2023”
Moscow Aviation Institute presented its developments at the XXVI Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies "Archimedes-2023". The event takes place on March 28-30 at the congress and exhibition center of the Cosmos Hotel.
At MAI stand, the visitor can get acquainted with the prefabricated cellular aggregates, which allow to increase the strength and reliability of the bearing surfaces of aircraft – wings, flaps, propeller blades, keel, rudder. The invention may also be used in other industries, for example in mechanical engineering and construction.
There are the plant for the thermal disposal of toxic substances, samples of composite materials for multifunctional purposes and other developments presented there as well.
Another MAI development for the space industry is the ISS robot inspector. It is only 12-14 mm large and it is designed to search for cracks on solar panels, skin and hard-to-reach areas of the International Space Station. According to the idea, the robot should move along the outer surface of the station and fix damage with the help of the sensors. The development can significantly facilitate the work of cosmonauts.
The “Archimedes-2023” exhibition makes it possible to bring new technologies to the market. All results of intellectual activity are selected and evaluated by the expert commission and international jury. The best inventions will receive awards from the organizers and partners. The main prize is the Grand Prix “Golden Archimedes”. The closing ceremony and the awarding of the winners will take place on March 30.
