More than 1500 MAI students took part in Student Day
On January 23-25, large-scale cultural events dedicated to the Student Day took place at Moscow Aviation Institute. More than 1500 students took part in them. Mass events were held in the Main Academic Building of Moscow Aviation Institute. On January 25, students were waiting for an interactive platform where everyone could take part in various interactive stations (test their erudition, communication skills, compete for the "Challenge Cup" (rowing machine race) and participate in other competitions. The most active students received prizes. The program also included a quiz battle between volunteers and representatives of the students' committee.
On the same day, MAI Rector Mikhail Pogosyan met with student activists, the participants of the meeting discussed the technological challenges of the future and the prospects for the development of aerospace markets. In addition, Mikhail Aslanovich awarded gold and silver volunteers – more than 20 MAI residents, who devoted more than 50-100 hours to volunteering, received awards from the hands of the Rector.
It was possible to take part in the celebration not only internally. The program of online activities included the eSports tournament in the CS:GO discipline. The Department for Youth Policy of the MAI and the Volunteer Center organized online quiz on the topic of Student Day and a flash mob in social networks, to participate in which one had to post a photo with his/her favorite university.
As part of the program, several field events were held for the Student Day. On January 23, 24 and 25, the Center for the Development of Volunteerism and Student Initiatives, together with the Mosvolonter resource Center, held "Good Lessons" workshops in Moscow schools aimed at popularizing the volunteer movement among schoolchildren. On January 24, the social action "Closer" took place at the Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology (NII NDHiT), which included creative and developmental workshops for children starting from the age of three. This is a new project of the MAI Volunteer Center together with the “Korablik” Foundation and the NDHiT Research Institute. Also on January 25, a team of volunteers took part in accompanying the "space hockey" in Gorky Park – the first interuniversity 3x3 hockey tournament.
