MAI and Kaspersky Lab joint hackathon brought together more than 100 participants
More than 100 students and graduates of nine universities took part in the joint hackathon of Moscow Aviation Institute and Kaspersky Lab "Manage with Kaspersky." 20 teams from MAI, AUCA, MGOTU, MSTU "STANKIN", MIPT, HSE, NRU MEPhI, RTU MIREA submitted applications for participation. 10 made it to the finals.
The main topic of the hackathon was robot control systems, which are being actively implemented in warehouse logistics today: these are tractor robots, systems for handling luggage at airports, mobile systems for moving cargo, such as Amazon robotics. In the final, the participants had to design a cyberattack-protected control system for an autonomous transport robot based on Alphabot/RaspberryPi under the control of Kaspersky.
The first place of the hackathon was taken by the student of the department 307 "Digital Technologies and Information Systems" of MAI Alexander Alexandrov, who performed under the nickname Manul. For the victory, he received a certificate from the organizers for 75 thousand rubles.
— I have created a management system for AlphaBot based on Kaspersky. My solution ensured the protection of the system at all levels: starting from the transfer of commands from the server to the robot, ending with interprocess communication, — said the winner.
The second place of the competition was taken by the HSE and MIPT team "Thoughts of Jacques Fresco". Finally, the third place went to the Vfsramfs team from the department 304 "Computing Machines, Systems and Networks" of MAI.
