Composites made of lunar soil: experiment initiated by MAI started on ISS
The Dispersion experiment, directed by Moscow Aviation Institute, was launched on board of the International Space Station. Special correspondent of TASS on the ISS, cosmonaut of Roscosmos, postgraduate student of the department 614 "Ecology, life support systems and life safety" MAI Dmitry Petelin reported that. The task of the experiment will be to study dispersed systems and solutions of polymers of various nature in microgravity conditions with temperature changes and the effects of vibrations, electric and magnetic fields. The data obtained will be used for the creation of materials and structural elements in the case of the implementation of the lunar program and the development of technological modes for the production and formation of composite dispersed materials based on lunar soil.About 20 experimental sessions will be conducted as part of the ISS-68 expedition. Scientific equipment was developed by JSC "Laser systems”.
