MAI will become the co-founder of the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities
Moscow Aviation Institute together with the National Research University "MEI" and the Vietnamese National University are creating a Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of technical universities. The concept of the consortium was presented at the III meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese Commission for Cooperation in Education, Science and Technology, that took place in Moscow. The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia Natalia Bocharova and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Xuan Dinh.
According to Natalia Bocharova, joint projects of Russia and Vietnam should be focused primarily on assistance in the implementation of scientific and technological development and improvement of education systems, as well as on solving socio-economic problems of the two states. Thus, the creation of the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities will provide the industry with highly qualified personnel capable of solving the problems of tomorrow.
The universities that are participating in the consortium will jointly implement educational programs, conduct research, participate in academic mobility programs for students and teachers, carry out Olympiads, etc.
Currently, more than 3,000 Vietnamese citizens are studying at Russian universities, 2,490 of them are in the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. The number of students increased by 119 people if compared to 2020. 1,000 scholarships allocated to the Republic for the upcoming 2023/24 academic year.
About 100 Vietnamese citizens study at MAI at all levels from undergraduate to postgraduate studies. The University closely cooperates not only with Vietnamese higher education institutions, but also with the Ministry of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. More than 400 Vietnamese graduated from MAI, many of them hold leading positions in their country.
