MAI held the 21st International "Aviation and Cosmonautics" Conference
From November 21 to 25, the 21st International "Aviation and Cosmonautics" Conference was held in MAI as part of the IX International Aerospace Technology Week Aerospace Science Week. Rostec, Russian Helicopters, Shvabe and UEC were the partners of the event. The conference is held annually and allows to summarize the best practices of industrial and scientific organizations from different countries, strengthen partnerships and determine further directions for the development of the aerospace complex of Russia.
Within the framework of the conference, the plenary session was held, it was moderated and hosted by Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Yury Ravikovich. The event was also attended by the Rector of MAI Mikhail Pogosyan. Experts presented reports on the key technological directions of development, modern challenges, the state and prospects of the aerospace industry. Then a panel discussion was held, where experts discussed the issues of training engineers of the new generation and answered the questions from the audience.
The work of the conference was continued by breakout sessions in nine areas of high-tech industries, within which 27 thematic sections worked. In total, more than 600 participants took part in the conference, they presented about 400 scientific reports. Such issues as the management of aerospace enterprises in the context of digitalization and new modern trends, prospects for the use of additive technologies, the development and research of new materials, developments in the fields of creating electrostatic motors, mathematical modeling in various software products, augmented reality technologies and prospects for the use of UAVs were raised among the topical issues.
Summing up the results of the conference, the collection of abstracts will be published in English and Russian with further publication in the RSCI system. Participants might also publish their articles in scientific publications of MAI, included by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in the "List of peer-reviewed scientific publications", and in a special issue of the journal Aerospace Systems, indexed in the Scopus database.
