MAI developed hackathon platform for 100 000 users
Moscow Aviation Institute employees and students made their own platform for hackathons. Due to microservice architecture, 100 thousand or more users can work on the platform at the same time.
The platform was designed and made by experts and students of the Department 806 "Computational Mathematics and Programming", MAI IT Center and Lambda student IT club. During the development of the platform, the experience of organizing the MAI aviahathons and the participation of Lambda teams in the largest Russian IT competitions was taken into account. The hardware part of the platform operates on the Sheldon computing cluster located in the new MAI IT space.
The platform provides opportunities for team building, publishing cases and solutions, rating teams, expertise and evaluation of solutions. Personal accounts of participants, organizers, experts and jury members were created with the possibility of publishing CVs and vacancies, and the infographic of the event. According to Artemy Mazaev, the graduate student of the department 806 and one of the founders of Lambda, if necessary, the platform might be used to support project activities in the educational process, including for the "digital department" of MAI.
— We are very proud of the platform interface, which was developed by Maxim Blinov, the student of the Institute No. 8 "Computer Science and Applied Mathematics", — says Artemy Mazaev. — The entire visual component of the platform is intuitive and easy to use for both hackers and hackathon organizers.
As the backend developer of the MAI IT center Danila Gudynin told, the team hid a secret code inside the platform. Finding it is an additional bonus for users.
On October 21-23, the 2022 Avia Hackathon will be held on the basis of the new platform. Registration is available via link.
