MAI Startup Studio

Startup acceleration program "MAI Startup Studio" was launched at Moscow Aviation Institute. The program is implemented on the basis of the Project Training Center of the Institute No.14 "Advanced Engineering School" and MAI Marketing Center.

The aim of the program is to search and verify promising business ideas, form business plan and project implementation plan, develop technological entrepreneurship at the university and form business teams of students and researchers from both MAI and partner universities.

The project teams passed a competitive selection, presenting their ideas and technological developments. 50 projects were peered at already. According to the results of the selection, six projects were included into the acceleration program:

• "Active" packaging aimed at the shelf life of food increase;

• Alzheimer's disease diagnosing software;

• High-power and long-range fire extinguishing system;

• Electric rocket propulsion system for the ICA CubeSat and groups;

• Muscle activity assessment device;

• GP-150 unmanned agricultural vehicle.

First, the participants got acquainted with the project management technology, presented their hypotheses of business ideas and made their individual project development plan.

The program consists of nine sprints, each of which includes lecture and project modes. Throughout the program, the teams are provided with expert, consulting, methodological and educational support. A tracker is attached to each project, which ensures the movement of the project team according to the program. Among the experts of the startup studio there are representatives of business, venture capital and industry leaders.

By the end of the program, participants will form competitive business models, product MVP and speak at a pitch session in front of a pool of investors of the MAI startup studio.
