MAI and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University: cooperation results of the International Polytechnic Summer School
From June to September, St. Petersburg Polytechnic University named after Peter the Great hosted the International Polytechnic Summer School, which brought together over 400 international students from 14 countries online. Moscow Aviation Institute was the partner of the event, launching the "Smart Manufacturing and Digital Future" – collaboration program with SPbPU.
The program became the flagship of the Summer School and th successful project of the season. It brought together 38 students from different countries who received relevant knowledge in the field of digital transformation of industry, product life cycle, system engineering and technical management. Like other programs of the school, the joint module of SPbPU and MAI was fully adapted to online format. The students had the opportunity not only to receive up-to-date theoretical information, but also to work on projects.
As MAI Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Alexander Shemyakov noted, the joint program will be the first step in the implementation of comprehensive cooperation with SPbPU concerning the international activities.
Nine areas were covered during the School: engineering and natural sciences, information and digital technologies, civil engineering, energy technologies, business and management, entrepreneurship in the digital environment, humanities, etc. Classes were in English. In addition to the educational part, there was cultural program6 for all students — interactive online excursions, conversation clubs and quizzes.
