The flagship of the International Polytechnic Summer School of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in 2022 was the program, which was implemented jointly with MAI. From July 18 to 29, professors of two leading universities gave online lectures as part of the module "Smart Manufacturing and Digital Future" for 38 students from different countries.
Within the joint program, leading MAI professors with hands-on experience delivered a set of lectures on the use of digital technologies in product lifecycle management, model based system engineering and technical management.
“It is the first step in the implementation of our joint complex collaboration in international activities, focused on formation and implementation of new engineering educational programs that are based on interdisciplinary approach” said Alexander Shemiakov, Vice-Rector for strategy development.
The launch of joint short-term programs on the basis of both universities will give a start to comprehensive long-term cooperation. These programs will establish a solid basis for the implementation of future advanced joint projects. The main goal is to export Russian education and increase its competitiveness in the international market.
"All our experience gained over the years of implementing joint programs with leading universities in the world, we are now applying it to the implementation of national network programs. The summer School "Smart Manufacturing and Digital Future" is our first joint program with MAI, that combines the competencies of two universities in the field of industrial digital technologies. As a result, we have a unique educational product that is in demand by both foreign and Russian students, as it provides relevant knowledge necessary for the development and digital transformation of industry," added Prof. Dmitry Arsenyev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of SPbPU.
