IT-course for aviation industry was launched at MAI International Summer Aerospace School
On July 13, an online course called IT&Design University was launched at the International Summer Aerospace School of Moscow Aviation Institute. The program was created at the junction of two directions: aircraft design and IT. The course consists of lectures, practical classes and project activities.
— Information technologies play crucial role in the development of aviation nowadays. If earlier aircraft design and IT were not directly connected, now all the equipment, especially such high-tech as aircraft, is designed in CAD and CAE systems, which requires that the employees should have the skills to work with these software products. In addition, most of the communication is turning to online format, and even more and more work methods from IT are transiting to other industries. This is exactly what we will talk about during our course, — notes Olga Khomutskaya, lecturer of the course, Associate Professor of the Department 307 "Digital Technologies and Information Systems", MAI.
Students from seven leading Chinese universities take part in the program. During these five days they will master different development methods: from classic to modern, such as scrum and agile. Teachers will talk about the concept of a digital twin and a digital passport, will analyze a large block of information about the types of development, testing, configuration, types of real-time systems and the work with them. And between the lectures the participants will be able to warm up via sports video lessons.
During the course, students will complete several homework assignments that will allow them to understand and consolidate the material they have passed completely.
— By the end of the program students should come up with the systematic understanding of modern IT approaches, figure out how they are used in aviation and industry, and learn how to use them when performing tasks at the university, — says Olga Khomutskaya.
