Additive manufacturing: MAI took part in the "Metalwork-2022" exhibition
From May 23 to 27, Expocentre hosted the exhibition "Metalwork-2022" – Russia's largest event in the area of machine tool construction, equipment, instruments and tools for the metalworking industry. The experts of Moscow Aviation Institute took part in the International Forum on Additive Technologies and 3D Solutions INDUSTRIY3D, which was part of the business program.
MAI students presented scientific reports on solutions and innovative technologies in additive manufacturing and 3D solutions. Andrey Ripetsky, Associate Professor of the Department 904 "Engineering Graphics", Head of the Laboratory of Additive Technologies, told about the work in technological design, taking into account the features of industrial additive technologies. Special attention was paid to the developed software package for the technological preparation of a full cycle for industrial production complexes of additive manufacturing.
Veniamin Brykin, engineer-technologist of the Laboratory of Additive Technologies of MAI presented the report "Quality design in additive manufacturing at the stage of technological design".
“The important issue of modern 3D printing is the quality of the production process and how it can be laid at the early stages of work. This is what makes it possible to avoid wasting time and material resources and the appearance of gray hair on the head of the operator of an expensive industrial 3D printer," Veniamin notes. “In my report, the issues of ensuring the quality of the additive manufacturing process through formalization, that is, making rules and regulations more strict, technological design, work with material, control of equipment characteristics and selection of parameters of the selective laser melting process on domestic additive manufacturing equipment are considered.”
