MAI took part in the Army-2021 international military technical forum
On August 22-28, the Army-2021 international military technical forum was held, in which Moscow Aviation Institute participated actively. The main events of the forum were held in the Patriot Exhibition Center, at the Alabino training ground, at the Kubinka airfield, as well as in all military districts and the Northern Fleet. The forum was attended by over 1.400 enterprises and organizations, including 60 foreign companies from 12 countries.
MAI took part in the exhibition and business program of the forum. As part of the business program, the “Implementation of the strategy of the development of the multilevel education system in the defense industry. Facing New Challenges” plenary session was held, at which the rector of Moscow Aviation Institute Mikhail Pogosyan spoke about the role of the university in the implementation of the personnel policy of the industry and solving the problems of production diversification. Also as part of the conference “Diversification of the defense industry. Personnel issue” of the Army-2021 forum, the meeting of the Committee for the Development of Fundamental Science and Personnel Training of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia took place. Mikhail Pogosyan spoke about approaches to the formation of the unified digital environment for interaction between universities and defense industry enterprises at that event.
The round table titled "Features of the dynamics of the flight of aircraft in critical modes", aimed at developing proposals for the development of effective interaction between higher educational institutions, research and test organizations, as well as enterprises of the country's military-industrial complex, was moderated by professor Alexander Efremov, the head of the department 106 "Dynamics and flight control manned aircraft", Doctor of Technical Sciences. Also the event was attended by Mikhail Tyaglik, the associate professor of department 106, candidate of technical sciences, who spoke about the means of preventing an aircraft from entering supercritical flight modes when it enters the zone of intense atmospheric turbulence.
Round table “Robotics in Russia: problems, solutions and industry prospects. Expectations and Reality”, was attended by Olga Lepeshkina, Deputy Director of the MAI Children's Technopark “Takeoff Trajectory”. The participants of the discussion debated about how the pace of development of robotics in Russia today corresponds to the achievement of the goals of the strategy of socio-economic development in Russia and such development programs as Priority 2030, Industry 4.0 and how to arouse interest in robotics among the younger generation.
Open workshop on unmanned aerial vehicles was held by Kirill Shchukin, head of the "Drone School" laboratory at the "Takeoff Trajectory" Children's Technopark. He told the guests of the exhibition about the education and training of young personnel as UAV operator. As part of the workshop, flights were performed on the training drone, and Kirill Prigodsky, the flight instructor from the Drone School laboratory of the MAI "Takeoff Trajectory" Children's Technopark demonstrated the skills of professional drone control to the guests. In the special zone anyone could watch demonstration flights of MAI drones and, under the guidance of an experienced mentor, try themselves as UAV operators.
As part of the exhibition program, MAI presented the stand where visitors could get acquainted with the robotic arm – a universal manipulator made by students of MAI Technopark, test the flight simulator on a sports drone, get acquainted with the basics of additive technologies using the example of 3D-pens and make themselves a souvenir. Those who thought about higher education could take a career guidance test to determine the direction of study and get acquainted with the educational programs of the university.
