MAI on the first day of MAKS-2021: innovative developments and business meetings
The 20th of July was the first day of the XV International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021 at the airfield of the Flight Research Institute named after M.M. Gromov in Zhukovsky, and Moscow Aviation Institute traditionally took part in it. MAI demonstrates its innovative developments for the aerospace industry, and also participates in the business program of the exhibition as usual.
The main exhibition area of MAI at MAKS is located in pavilion F3. The university showcases a number of new developments in the area of promising aircraft information and control field prototyping, units of accident-resistant fuel system, aircraft engines and power plants, small spacecraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, samples of electric propulsion systems and much more here.
The light multipurpose aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal", created on the basis of MAI Special Design Bureau of Experimental Aircraft Manufacturing by order of the company "Baikal-Engineering" also is worth noting. The aircraft is showcased at a static parking lot. The detailed model of the aircraft is presented at MAI stand in pavilion F3. OSKBES MAI took part in the creation of a prototype aircraft at all the main stages: from design to production. The high-wing aircraft with a turboprop engine and a wingspan of 16.5 m is preparing to perform its maiden flight at the end of this year.
On the first day of the exhibition Russian President Vladimir Putin visited MAKS. The head of the state greeted the guests and opened the Salon. In his speech the President noted that the flight safety improvement, the reduction of the negative impact of aviation on the environment and extraterrestrial space exploration should be the priority issues of close interaction between science and business. The speech was followed by the flight program: the audience observed the flights of modern Russian aircraft and helicopters: regional commercial IL-114 aircraft, a group of military helicopters, Su-57 and MiG-35 fighters, MS-21-300 and MS-21-310 commercial aircraft.
As part of the business program of the first day, "Domestic digital technologies in aviation and the aviation industry" round table was held, it was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Department of Digital Technologies and JSC “Aviasalon”. Among the experts were Dmitry Yuryevich Strelets, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Deputy Director for Design of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, Head of NIO-101 of Moscow Aviation Institute. He spoke about the complex of solutions for modeling and controlling the weight characteristics of a high-tech industrial product being developed at Moscow Aviation Institute together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
Business program will last for two days more. MAI will hold a number of meetings with industrial partners, within the framework of which new contacts will be established and existing agreements will be strengthened. And from 23 to 25 July there will be visitors’ days at MAKS-2021.
