MAI co-organized a Cosmic Exhibition for young people

On April 11-13, MAI Institute No. 6 “Aerospace” became the co-organizer of the international exhibition of design, research, and creative works of schoolchildren and students “Out of time and space - around the Earth - 60 years in space”. It was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Yury Gagarin’s and German Titov's space flights. The exhibition was held under the auspices of the international project of the same name of the Institute No. 6 of the Moscow Aviation Institute, the RISKSAT project group, the KLYUCH International Cultural Institute (Czech Republic), and Troitsk City District Administration.Russian and foreign space industry experts, scientists and engineers, schoolchildren, students and teachers from 12 regions of Russia and young compatriots living abroad (students of Russian schools, universities, representatives of coordination councils of Russian compatriots, professors teaching Russian as a foreign language) attended the exhibition. The participants of the event exchanged their experience in the implementation of research and development projects using the results of space activities. More than 200 works were presented there.Vladimir Zagovorchev, Head of the Research Department of MAI Institute No. 6 and Alexey Kucheiko, the teacher of the 610 Department of Rocket and Space Systems Operations, General Director and Scientific Director of the RISKSAT interregional design group, represented MAI at the event.MAI graduate, test cosmonaut Oleg Blinov, first pilot-cosmonaut of the Czechoslovak Republic, Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Remek, a cosmonaut of Roscosmos, Hero of Russia, commander of the Russian cosmonaut corps Oleg Kononenko greeted the participants of the event online and wished them luck and success.MAI stand was available with the following projects:• 3rd-year students of department 610 Anton Chaika, Gleb Koval and Daria Kozlova presented the joint project titled “Study of the impact of the pandemic on the air traffic volume of Russia in comparison to other countries according to satellite imagery”;• 2nd-year student of department 610 Alexey Ivanov presented two projects at once: “3D-model of the prefabricated Angara-5M designer on cargo platform” and “Scale model of the VOSTOK-1 rocket”;• 1st-year student of the department I-15 “Advertising and public relations in high-tech industries” of MAI Institute No. 10 “Foreign Languages” Elizaveta Panych presented the project “Club of young MAI diplomats who are into space theme”.The 2nd year student of department 611B “System analysis and design of space systems” Artyom Makarenko acted as the scientific supervisor of two tenth graders who are going to enter Moscow Aviation Institute in 2022 (Daria Novozhilova and Andrey Nikashin). The school children presented two projects: “Study of the possibility of using neural networks in the monitoring of fire hazardous systems” and “Analysis of the impact of the pandemic on the socio-economic sphere and the ecology of Russia.”The event was carried out in a mixed format. Additionally, there was also the excursion to MAI to the modern exposition of the orbital manned station “Almaz”, stand protection of design, research, creative works of schoolchildren and students, the international online conference “Together in Space” and the presentation of projects that became the winners of the exhibition.
