He noted that being himslef a graduate of the MAI Aircraft Engineering Department, he is well aware of the mixed feelings of joy, sadness and anxiety that are experienced by those present in the hall, as a beautiful period when the studentship comes to an end and a new stage of professional and personal development starts. The students were also congratulated by Fyodor Yurchikhin, the distinguished guest of honour, graduate of the MAI Aircraft Department, Hero of the Russian Federation, a cosmonaut of the Russian Federation.Mikhail Aslanovich and Fedor Yurchikhin solemnly awarded graduates of MAI 2021 distinguished by good academic performance, scientific achievements, curiosity and hunger for knowledge with the diplomas with honours. This year, among the distinguished students, was a young master of Aircraft engineering Wang Tianyu, who came to Russia from China to study at the Institute No.1 "Aviation Engineering". What is especially remarkable about Wang Tianyu is that he accomplished a Russian-medium program.
"Fortunately, to me, Russian is almost like a native language, therefore I had few difficulties in understanding it. In any case, I am very grateful to the excellent professors, who were always willing to explain whatever topic that needed any clarification", Wang said to MAI Press service. "I would like to thank our tutor Antonina Robertovna for accompanying me throughout my studies and Mikhail Aslanovich. It is a great honour to be awarded the diploma by MAI Rector. I am proud to have graduated with the so-called "red diploma" from MAI and will try to continue my activities with a similar scrupulosity and diligence", Wang added.
At the end of the event, the participants of the student drama studio "STAF" Anna Kudryavtseva, Denis Davydov and Mikhail Nikitin performed a famous Russian song about the homesick astronaut called "Trava u doma" ("The Grass by the House").
