MAI graduate appointed Director of the Department of Culture of the Russian Defence Ministry
In January 2021, upon the order of the Russian Defence Minister, the MAI graduate Artyom Gorny was appointed Director of the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.Artyom Gorny graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1991 with the diploma in aircraft radio electronics. From 1991 to 2020 he worked in different cultural state and commercial organizations, he was the member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation; public commissioner for the organization of cultural events under the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in Moscow. He is the member of the General Council of the Russian Public Organization «Business Russia» and the Board of Trustees of the Aleksandrov Foundation for Creative Projects Support.
«Culture is not only about art and creativity, it is a large industry full of private enterprises with a great number of employees, namely private museums, event agencies, organizations providing technological support for various processes, including ticket sales and accounting, etc. There are big and small businesses, and it is the private sector that often drives the cultural industry forward. It is important to represent their interests, views and vision on cultural issues and regulation of this sphere in the ministry», Gorny commented on his appointment to the public council of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
