Russian scientific and technical forum was held at MAI

The Russian Forum "Scientific and Technical Development and Challenges of Global Leadership" was held at the Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University). The event was conducted for the first time, and it was organized by MAI and the "League for Assistance to Defense Enterprises". On the 17th of November the plenary session was held on the topic "Prospects of the inter-industry cooperation for implementation of new technologies". In the frame of the event, the awards were handed out to talented schoolchildren, students and young professionals — the winners of various conferences and competitions.

During the final day of the forum the Chairman of the State Duma Commission on legal support for the development of defense industry organizations in Russia, the President of the "League for Aassistance to Defense Enterprises", the first Deputy Chairman of Soyuzmash Vladimir Gutenev, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, the Governor of the Tula Region Alexey Dyumin and the MAI rector Mikhail Pogosyan also took part in the event.

"The Forum is being held for the first time, nevertheless I am sure, that this event will be a nationwide platform for constructive cooperation between universities and leading domestic enterprises that are interested in highly qualified personnel who will contribute to innovative potential strengthening of the Russian economy" — as was underlined by the head of the Russian Ministry of Science and Education.

The winners of the X National Scientific and Technical Conference were awarded during the plenary session. The conference was held annually by the Russian Engineering Union starting from 2011, and it is currently a set of events aimed at involving young experts into innovative activities of the machine-building industry. Leading experts, representatives of corporations, scientists, engineers and developers — people who form the vector of the technological development in Russia — gather at the NNTC site. Students of Russian educational organizations, groups of authors, young scientists under the age of 35 who have Russian citizenship — they all are the participants of the event.

"Nowadays our University builds cooperation with the Russian Engineering Union, the League of Assistance to Defense Enterprises, Rostec and other corporations in order to create new environment, forming the leaders of the upcoming changes. I would like to wish all the winners and the participants success in their work in developing their research projects in areas that will ensure global economic leadership of our country in various fields" — noted Mikhail Pogosyan, the rector of MAI.

Also at the plenary session, the winners of the award named after N.A. Makarovets for achievements in military and civil products creation were praised as well as the winner of the "MISS FORUM-2020" contest, which was held as part of the IX International Youth Industrial Forum "Engineers of the Future".

"For several years already, the Russian Engineering Union has been holding the country’s largest competition (Olympiad) "Zvezda", which is attended by 350,000 people in average. It provides the winners with an opportunity to get advantages as far as the admission to leading technical universities is concerned. The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation attend the meeting of the Zvezda Organizing Committee. The new award named after N.A. Makarovets is given to those who have already achieved outstanding results in engineering. Thus, the forum held at the MAI site is a straight system of training and selection of engineering personnel "school-university-production site", — said Vladimir Gutenev.

Apart from that, the defense of projects and awarding ceremony of the winners of the contest "I am the designer of the future" organized by the MAI Pre-University School, were held.

Besides, the participants also took part in an outstanding and busy agenda that included the lecture of the MAI rector Mikhail Pogosyan "The profession of the engineer and designer: the development of the complex system in the context of digital transformation", topical quiz, etc.
