Science, sport, creativity and beauty: MAI at the "Engineers of the Future" forum

This year the event was held online for the first time. The forum is organized by the Union of machine builders of Russia with the support of Rostec, the Federal Agency for youth Affairs (ROSMOLODEZH), the League for assistance to defense enterprises, as well as "Labor reserves" of the Russian Federation.

The forum is aimed at involving young engineers into the restoration and further boosting of the national scientific and industrial system, as well as at uniting the efforts of young people in Russia and foreign countries in order to implement joint projects targeted at the development of mechanical engineering together with other related industries.

Almost 30 students and young experts from the Moscow aviation Institute took part in the forum. The University delegation was presented by representatives from 9 MAI institutes from 13 countries. As part of the Forum tour program, the participants were saw MAI video presentation. At the initiative of the University, a video contest «my company’s Contribution to the environment» was held as part of cultural program for young engineers and scientists.

This year business program consisted of open online meetings with heads of state corporations, managers and experts of the largest enterprises and organizations in the engineering industry as the speakers. MAI residents participated in the business program actively, attended online meetings, asked questions for which additional points were scored, and communicated to the speakers.

The educational program of the forum was presented in the form of video lectures, with a total of 32 courses available from 18 companies. Members of the MAI team have mastered 12 and more educational courses. "Organizational management", "Quality Management" and "Lean manufacturing" courses held by the PJSC "United aircraft Corporation" became the most popular courses among our students.

The cultural program consisted of contests and challenges in social networks, as well as remote workshops from famous actors, Directors and screenwriters. As part of the sports agenda, participants were the secrets of training of the famous Champions were unveiled. Thanks to the sports program from the «Labor reserves» during the forum, one could get himself in good physical shape.

Anastasia Skvortsova, the MAI Institute No. 7 "Robotic and intelligent systems" student, became the finalist of the "Miss Forum" contest, where she received the "Vice-Miss Forum" title. The MAI team also became an active participant on the sports program: the students took part in daily challenges, and three MAI videos reached the final of the forum.

The final results of the Forum are to be announced in two weeks. However, now we already know that our students took third place at the festival of military-patriotic songs dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory performing the great Patriotic war song "The War is Over" and second place in the workshop on creating animated presentations, with "The Threat of global warming" presentation.
