Digital Career

IT is one of the strategic directions of the development of Moscow Aviation Institute. The need in specialists in Russia is constantly growing. In order to be oriented towards labour market demands, adapt educational programs in due time, the university continuously evaluates large employers’ requirements of personnel.

Together with Russian flagships specialising in or actively developing information technologies, MAI IT-centre implements new educational Master’s programs. Monitoring of both student and business requests, when paired with the necessity to reform and develop the internal educational environment, made conditions to open a total of 10 programs allowing to acquire a commercially successful occupation. Such as «IT Services Product Management», «Design of High Load Internet Services», «Digital Production Management», «Internet of Things», «Applied Tasks of Machine Learning and Big Data Analysis», «VR/AR and Artificial Intelligence», «Cybersecurity of Infocommunications».

Among the partners of new IT-programs there are companies leading the IT development globally and in Russia: Sberbank, MTS, Samsung, Avito, SAP, Microsoft, Bosch Rexroth, HeadHunter, CROC, ivi, ozon.ru, Diasoft, Rostelecom, New Cloud Technologies, Luxoft, Rightech, Phygitalism, and many other. Companies provide students with teachers and learning coaches, laboratories and practice, share case studies for practical experience, as well as are being mentors for project work. Of course, in addition to full-time training, students have access to a wide range of digital courses and real business cases necessary for successful career.

«MAI IT-centre in its activities aggregates all prospective degrees for IT-specialists with accordance to modern challenges of economy. All programs are practice-oriented and suggest a direct involvement of industry partners and IT in educational process. The programs cover most advanced technologies: Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Big Data, High Load Services, and others», says Maria Bulakina, Head of the IT-centre. «Partners are ready to provide students with internships. According to the results, the most talented students can get a job offer in the best companies in the country».

«I was receiving my Bachelor’s degree at the time and, basically, didn’t plan to get a Master’s, but the training methods in MAI grabbed me. It is important for a specialist in our industry to be engaged in educational process provided by company representatives with practical experience. They can give us the knowledge we would not be able to receive at any academic lecture. MAI offered a flexible mix of classical theory and practical studies. By the way, there were way more practice. I really liked that, so I made my decision and opted for IT Master’s in MAI», describes Daniil Forshenev, MAI student and leading engineer of «MTS».
