Results of the International Section Were Summed Up at the Gagarin Science Conference
In the spring of 2020, the XLVI International Youth Scientific and Practical Conference "Gagarin Science Conference" was held at Moscow Aviation Institute. The goal of the conference is to develop a scientific interest in the aerospace areas of science and technology, to acquire skills in research work and to improve the experience of public speaking among young people.
Due to the with the necessity of following of sanitary and epidemiological standards to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Russian Federation, the conference was held in a remote format.
International students and young scientist could participate in the conference both in general sections in Russian, and in International section in English. The bilingual format is especially relevant within the framework of the MAI policy to improve the quality of education and introduce new educational technologies using a foreign language.
27 reports were accepted for participation in the international section of the conference, and 10 of them became the winners. Every participant receive the conference certificate with a title of the research work.
“We two come from different countries, China and India. We saw the notice of this conference on the website and decided to participate because it was a unique experience for us, it was a chance to meet with likeminded people and industry peers related to Space Science,” said two participants of the conference Amresh and Louie. “We originally planned to make a presentation in Moscow, but due to the virus, we finally recorded the video and uploaded the PPT. Our research was about the prediction of fatigue life of composites under vibration condition. We were very happy and excited when we received the certificate. A recognition of our work at the Gagarin Science Conference made us feel proud and motivated us to further carry out research work. It was very important achievement for both of us.”
