Members of the Consortium of Russian Aerospace Universities Met at MAI

On February 20, a general meeting of members of the Consortium of Russian Aerospace Universities was held at Moscow Aviation Institute. The Consortium is an innovative structure of higher aerospace education, which was founded in 2012 on the basis of nine higher educational institutions.Rectors, Vice-rectors and Heads of relevant departments of the country's leading aerospace universities discussed the challenges facing the aerospace field, new promising markets, innovative technologies and approaches to engineering education.As part of the meeting, elections for the President and Vice-Presidents of the Consortium of Aerospace Universities of Russia were held.  Rector of Moscow Aviation Institute, Mikhail Pogosyan, was unanimously elected the new president of the organization. Albert Gilmutdinov, Rector of Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev, became Vice President of Research. Evgeny Shakhmatov, Scientific Director of Samara University, was elected Vice President for Academic Affairs.The event was attended by Edham Akbulatov, Rector of Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology, Rustem Enikeev, Vice-Rector for Research of Ufa State Aviation Technical University, Konstantin Ivanov, Rector of Baltic State Technical University, Boris Kostishko, Rector of Ulyanovsk State University, Valery Koshkin, Acting Rector of Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University named after P.A. Soloviev, Dmitry Nikushchenko, Vice-Rector for Research of St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University, Vitaly Sergeev, Vice-Rector for Research of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, and other representatives of the scientific community.
