MAI Awarded the Most Active and Successful Students of the Year

30 December 2019

On December 23, a festive New Year event was held at Moscow Aviation Institute, dedicated to results of the university’s youth policy activity in 2019.

The holiday was held at the MAI Cultural Center. More than 170 best students of Moscow Aviation Institute, who were actively involved in the preparation and conduct of various university events, as well as in the implementation of the most ambitious and memorable MAI projects, were awarded.

The New Year's awarding ceremony for talented MAI students has already become a good tradition at our university: on this winter evening, those who succeed in the field of sports, social activities, science and creativity, who made their special contribution to the development of MAI, appeared on the stage.

MAI Rector Mikhail Pogosyan addressed the participants of the holiday with a welcoming speech, and also personally presented diplomas to the most active students.

The award began with summing up the final stage of the competition “Volunteer of the Year MAI-2019”, which was held on December 18. The Grand Prix of the competition was awarded to Dmitry Korobeinikov. The award ceremony continued with diplomas and souvenirs for the most active students, who this year, in addition to academic success, have achieved considerable success in the public life of their native schools.

Rector also personally awarded MAI students from the Strela branch, Oleg Zhigarev and Nikolai Yakimchuk, who this year set a world record at the V World Championship in Powerlifting, and our athletes who successfully performed at the Spartakiad of aviation universities in Kazan.

The award ceremony ended with the presentation of diplomas to activists of student associations. The most active students were awarded by MAI Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Sergey Kulikov. In particular, awards were received by representatives of MAI Volunteer Center, members of the KVN team, the Student Parliamentary Club, etc.

At the festival was also held a creative performance by Elena Glukhovchenko and an incendiary performance by MAI cheerleading team JETIX. The evening's finale was held in a warm informal setting on the dance floor of MAI Cultural Center: there was a photo shoot, interactive with Santa Claus and a buffet table.
