MAI at the Youth Forum and Exchange Camp on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in China
Moscow Aviation Institute became a co-organizer of a Sino-Russian Youth Forum and Exchange Camp on Innovation and Entrepreneurship ASRTU-GHMUA 2019, held by the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) at the South China University of Technology (SCUT) on November 9-12, in Guangzhou (People’s Republic of Сhina).
Representatives of 15 Chinese universities and 6 Russian universities met to discuss current tasks and plans for the future: MAI, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev, Amur State University, Ural Federal University and Samara University.
At a meeting of the ASRTU Council, in which MAI Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Dmitry Kozorez took part, a program for further cooperation was agreed and was laid the groundwork for student events to be held in Russia and China in 2020.
A section dedicated to presentations of innovative and entrepreneurial projects of Russian and Chinese students worked separately. 35 student teams presented their projects, relating in particular to additive technologies, artificial intelligence and cloud services. Visionary papers by representatives of universities, government agencies and entrepreneurs were delivered to the students.
A special cultural program was organized for the students-participants of the camp (about 100 people): a performance by artists of the conservatory, students of the SCUT. In addition, students and teaching staff visited the laboratories of host university and headquarters of the leading Chinese IT companies Huawei and Tencent.
“The coordinators of South China University of Technology organized the most friendly and warm welcome,” said Vladimir Sidelnikov, a student of the Institute №9 “General Engineering Training” MAI. “We felt at home. I am glad that with my report I managed to impress the jury and get a diploma of the 2nd degree, despite strong competition with other teams.”
Representatives of the Russian and Chinese parties expressed hope that result of this and upcoming events, the Association members will ensure that cooperation between universities in China and Russia will reach a higher level.
