International Students Started to Practice at the MAI Experimental Plant
On October 15, fourth-year international students of MAI Bachelor’s degree in Spacecraft and Propulsion Engineering programs began their curricular practical training at the MAI Experimental Plant.
The manufacturing internship is an obligatory discipline in the curriculum of international students, which allows them to learn their specialty from the practical side. This year, it is the second group of students who undergo the internship at the MAI Experimental Plant. The first one finished its practice in July.
The training course is aimed at combining the theory with practical skills. Within two weeks 15 students from Egypt, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sudan, Algeria and Yemen will be working on the milling machines of different generations and learning how a software controls machine’s work. They will write programs with direct tool motion control and make their own projects.
Upon successful completion of the practice every student will receive a certificate and practice specialization: Mechanical Operation (including on equipment with numerical control).
The experimental work related to the MAI research, development, creation and introduction of a new technology is being held at the MAI Experimental Plant. Aircraft and helicopters, parts of aircraft and spacecraft, prototypes of devices, stands, models are being manufactured here.
